Story

Hi All, 

In January 2019 I had never riden a bike further than 20km in one ride. I had riden my road bike on the road a hand full of times. 

 

I committed to ride for remembrance from Sydney to Canberra to raise much needed funds for police legacy. My training was going well, until I fell from my bike while training and received an injury which required surgery. Lucky for me it was only a month off training. 

 

 

The ride to Canberra will be a extremely challenging for a number of reasons more so now that my training has been a little less than expected. 

 

The ride is the NSW Police Legacy Rememberance Ride from Sydney to Canberra 26 to 28 April. 

 

I'm hoping to make a difference by fundraising for a cause that's close to my heart. Police Legacy. I AM RIDING IN HONOUR OF THE LATE ANGE MCCANN whose daughter Lucia is a 14 year old legatee. Lucia lost her mum to suicide before turning 7. Ange and I joined the police together 23 years ago. I have seen first hand how Legacy has assisted Ange’s daughter. The work Police Legacy do to support Legatees is not possible without our contribution. 

I would appreciate any contribution, big or small for Police Legacy. Donations made through this platform are secure and tax deductible.

    NSW Police Legacy is the NSW Police Force Charity. Established in 1987 it was initially founded to support the bereaved families following the loss of their loved one. Now, our support extends to include police officers and their families experiencing challenging times in their lives. Our police family has grown to include not only families suffering from loss and grief, but those experiencing misfortune that require extra support.
